The XBOX One is truly a product like no other.
While the start was quite rocky for the Microsoft owned console, the present is quite nice for them.
The XBOX One, initially faced many obstacles upon initial launch. While it was constantly getting beat down by the sales numbers of the PS4, the company also suffered because of their limited distribution.
And for almost one full year they faced these challenges. The November of 2014, was however, expected to change things and turn them around for the XBOX One.
Around the holiday season, the XBOX’s distribution networks saw a colossal increase as they penetrated India and China – the worlds two largest populations, being the first console to enter China in this millennium, the XBOX gained major advantage and towards the end of the year started beating the sales of the PS4, and has over the last two months been more successful.
The graph of growth has been slow and steady, and the fruits of success are now visible.
On the back-end, Phil Spencer, the ‘boss’ at XBOX has been working hard to get exclusive deals for the product.
Here’s how the past week was for the XBOX One:
The E3 Mindshare Report: According to statistical data from VentureBeat and Synthesio, the four top names in the world of gaming are those of the PS4, the XBOX One, the PC and the Wii.
According to the social media analysis of synthesio, the XBOX one had generated the most conversations, leading with a thundering 74% followed by PS4 at 13.4%, PC at 7.6% and Wii at 4.9%
Destiny DLC: Destiny’s PS4 exclusive content is now on its way to the XBOX One with some tweaks as the bungie exclusivity contract is about to end and an autumn release on XBOX as a DLC is coming soon.
Here’s a quote from Bungie: “The previously Sony-exclusive strikes will be available this autumn on Xbox. But we’re not just re-issuing them. We’re refreshing them completely with the Taken.
We want you to experience The Undying Mind completely as it was with the Vex, and also in a Taken-ified version. We wanted to make it feel like more than last year’s model.”
Satya Nadella comments on the XBOX: Here’s a comment Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella made about the XBOX in his latest letter that he sent out to all the employees: “We will bring together Xbox Live and our first-party gaming efforts across PC, console, mobile and new categories like HoloLens into one integrated play. […] We will build the best instantiation of this vision through our Windows device platform and our devices, which will serve to delight our customers, increase distribution of our services, drive gross margin, enable fundamentally new product categories, and generate opportunity for the Windows ecosystem more broadly.”
