Microsoft’s Windows 10 Mobile OS has now become the latest official entrant in the markets of mobile phone devices, and the company is coming out with some major updates and upgrades for their existing devices.
There has been a lot of hue and cry over Microsoft not releasing this update since a long time, and users have been complaining that their Lumia phones were getting quite monotonous because of an extended run with the Windows Phone 8.1 OS. Microsoft users had been demanding the Windows 10 Mobile OS for their devices since quite some time, and that, Microsoft had promise that they would deliver by the end of the year 2015. However, Microsoft did not manage to do it. Microsoft in fact delayed the release of the OS twice after that, and the Windows 10 Mobile OS finally came out last week.
Only three phones were running on Microsoft’s Windows 10 Mobile OS in the past – Lumia 950 (and 950XL), Lumia 650 and Lumia 550. However, the company has now started rolling out the Windows 10 Mobile OS update for many other older Lumia phones in recent times.
The only devices that have received the Windows 10 Mobile OS update are those of – Lumia 1520, 930, 640, 640XL, 730, 735, 830, 532, 535, 540, 635 1GB, 636 1GB, 638 1GB, 430, 435, BLU Win HD w510u, BLU Win HD LTE x150q, and the MCJ Madosma Q501.
There have been many popular devices such as the Lumia 520, Lumia 1020 and Lumia 1320 which have not received the Windows 10 Mobile OS update, and are still running on the Windows 8.1 Mobile OS, as Microsoft has said that they do not want to compromise with the quality of experience for the users when it comes to Windows 10 Mobile, and hence they have chosen to release it for a select few devices.
