What’s Affecting Homebuilders Today?: D.R. Horton, Inc. (NYSE:DHI), KB Home (NYSE:KBH), Lennar Corporation (NYSE:LEN), PulteGroup, Inc. (NYSE:PHM)

Housing stocks first jumped, then were showing volatility after the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo housing-market index released Tuesday showed that home builders confidence rose in July for a third month, hitting the highest level in more than seven years. The builder-confidence index moved to 57 in July, the best reading not seen since January 2006, as compared to 51 in June.

Homebuilders were down on Monday with D.R. Horton, Inc. (NYSE:DHI) -4.57% down to close last trading session at $21.72. The stock’s year-to-date performance now stands around +9.81%.

Hovnanian Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE:HOV) traded -1.54% lower to close last trading session at $5.74. The stock’s year-to-date performance now stands around -18.00%.

KB Home (NYSE:KBH) traded -1.35% lower to close last trading session at $18.97. The stock’s year-to-date performance now stands around +20.37%.

Lennar Corporation (NYSE:LEN) traded -4.05% lower to close last trading session at $35.55. The stock’s year-to-date performance now stands around -7.78%.

PulteGroup, Inc. (NYSE:PHM) traded -3.36% lower to close last trading session at $19.54. The stock’s year-to-date performance now stands around +7.60%.

The Ryland Group, Inc. (NYSE:RY) traded -2.66% lower to close last trading session at $40.20. The stock’s year-to-date performance now stands around +10.38%.

Standard Pacific Corp. (NYSE:SPF) traded -1.95% lower to close last trading session at $8.56. The stock’s year-to-date performance now stands around +16.46%.
