This year Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi Mi 5 and it has been one of the most powerful smartphones by the company over the years. It was the company’s official flagship phone right up until they launched the Xiaomi Mi 5s and the Mi 5s Plus a while ago. Now after these launches, everybody was left wondering when the company is going to introduce the much awaited Xiaomi Mi 5c. This phone has been in and around the rumor mill for quite a while now under the name Xiaomi ‘Meri’. The latest leaks suggest that the upcoming phone by Xiaomi will be a fantastic smartphone, read on.
There have been new images in the rumor mill which actually go hand in hand with the leaks that we have seen right up until now thus validating that might be how the phone is going to look. As we see, the front side resembles the Xiaomi Mi 5 quite a bit. As we can see the Xiaomi Mi 5c is set to sport thin bazels on each side with a hardware home button on the bottom of the display. It seems like the back side is made out of metal unlike the Mi 5 where the company went with glass and ceramic. Another image shows that the Xiaomi Mi 5c or codename Xiaomi ‘Meri’ on a Chinese e-commerce website. On the website the price for the phone is set at 999 Yuan ($ 145).
It is expected that the Xiaomi Mi 5c will be available next month for the Chinese festival 12.12 according to the rumors. According to leaks the phone is set to sport a screen of 5.15 or 5.5 inches with 3 GB RAM and the companies own ‘Pine Cone’ processor. The home button is rumored to be a fingerprint scanner and the phone will come out with pre-installed Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow along with Xiaomi’s MIUI 8 skin. There are heavy odds that Xiaomi Mi 5c will come with a 13 MP camera at the back.
