Following are some of the top tricks and tips you must know if you own an iPhone 6s or an iPhone 6s plus:
- Use a live photo as your lockscreen wallpaper:
The new iPhones came out with many new features, and one of them was an ability to take a ‘live photo’. Remember the newspapers from Harry Potter movies? The one with moving pictures? Something similar has now been introduced to us with the iPhone moving picture. Setting a moving picture as your lock screen wallpaper is quite easy – open Camera Roll, view the Live Photo, and tap the Share icon. On the bottom row, swipe left until you see Use as wallpaper.
- Reply to texts like the flash! Quick responses:
The iPhone 6s and 6s plus bring many new things to the table, quick responses are one of them. To give a quick response to a message, simply press down on a text thread and swipe upwards to view a list of pre-set replies such as OK, Talk Later and Thanks. Quite an easy hack to save some time.
- Make your keyboard a trackpad:
One of the more exciting features of the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s plus, the ability to turn your keyboard into a trackpad is quite interesting and will enable the users to use their keyboard as trackpad for directing the cursor. Press down on the keyboard to move the cursor around. Tap again once to highlight a word, twice to highlight a line, and thrice to select all.
- Preview a link without opening it:
Another major improvements which ensures you open only the webpages that you actually want to and don’t end up falling a victim of spam or scam, you can now preview websites before you open them. In Safari, Messages, or Mail, press down on any link to preview it. In Safari, you can also press down then swipe up to copy the URL or add it to your reading list.
- Voice-Activation of Siri:
One of the most cheered improvements to be added to the iPhone 6S is the ability to say “Hey Siri” without having your phone plugged in. If you can’t find your phone, just say “Hey Siri, where are you!”
This feature can easily be set up by going to Settings > General > Siri > enable “Hey Siri.”
Additionally, thanks to iOS 9, you can now say “Find photos that I took in [location]” or “Find photos that I took on [date].” You can also say “Remind me to [task] when I get to [location]” and your Siri will fetch them for you! Pretty sweet to know the way the world is progressing you probably wont need to touch your phone at all in the next few years.
