Apple, traditionally known to be the masters of innovation, have been one of the leading names in the world of technology, and together with Microsoft and Google, form the holy trinity of the world of technology.
The company has been led by the iconic Steve Jobs right until his death, and Steve Jobs is literally ‘God’ when it comes to the world of innovations in technology.
He had firm belief in the power of innovation and believed that innovation was the true key to the success.
Every Apple product carries something which is quite unique, and something that sets it apart from the other Apple products, as well as various other competing products in the markets.
Apple has been a true market leader in the world of technology, and is also the number one business in terms of profits. On the 9th of September every year, Apple has managed to pull off something really amazing.
The company, this time around, too came out with new and innovative products – and with the launch of the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus, and the new iPad Pro, as well as the announcement of the Watch OS, and the iOS 9 and several other major releases including the Apple Pencil has managed to create a major noise around itself in the markets.
The latest from them has been the arrival of the Apple TV which has been one of the most awaited events of all times.
When it comes to the Apple TV, there’s not much of a difference at first glance, as physically, the unit isn’t much different from the older model.
The only noticeable difference is the fact that it’s just a little bit taller.
However, the remote and interface are entirely new.
The remote is quite slim and is shaped like a wand with a touchpad at the top.The buttons are those of: menu, home, volume and Siri; The new remote has motion sensing capabilities too.
The mic for Siri is at the top, however, you need not actually hold it up to your face to work with it.
The touchpad is made of glass and has a shiny appeal. On the top there is a small infrared port for sending out the volume commands to your TV, and on the bottom there’s a Lightning port for recharging — the battery is supposed to last for three months.
There’s no TV power button, though. It connects to the Apple TV over Bluetooth 4.0, so that IR port is really just a concession to needing at least to control volume on every possible TV.
There’s also support for Bluetooth keyboards, just as with the current model.
Siri and universal search work in iTunes, Netflix, Hulu, Showtime, and HBO right now, and Apple says more apps will be supported soon — it’s not clear if app developers can add support on their own, or if Apple will be a gatekeeper.
All in all it’s a major update over the previous Apple TV, and the remote is totally worth the experience. However, it has a long way to go.
