Oculus rift started shipping last fortnight. However, there are a lot of users have placed orders for the devices but have not received them yet. This unforeseen delay of shipping oculus rift units has made it it’s a difficult situation for the company to handle. Been a sector that has so much of competition in at virtual reality companies are at the top of their game to make people happy with their services. Under such situations when there are so many complaints from uses of Not Getting their devices it becomes difficult to maintain the company reputation. Hence oculus is definitely having a bad time.
The causes for these delays being cited is the sudden unforeseen shortage of components that is causing production to slow down. More over to make matters worse, oculus is not even responding well to the customers queries and people don’t even know where their orders are. Silence is definitely not something that is accepted at this juncture. It is important for the company to have their customer service work to the best of their abilities to handle these escalations. An update that has come from oculus recently has stated that no shipping status updates would be available before April 12th. The company has issued apology emails to their customers and those waiting for the orders would as of now have to do with just this email.
There are a lot of users however including the first user of the oculus rift consumer version Ross Martin Who have received their deliveries on time. In order to compensate for these problems oculus has decided that it will give a refund of the sitting fees to all the people who have received late deliveries. Competition has nevertheless seat in at the moment. There have been many users who have cancelled that the late Orders and have taken refund and instead have decided to purchase other devices like the HTC Vive.
