For a company which has been around the markets of technology for the past 40 years, Microsoft has been a tech firm, with their focus largely being on the software side of things. Many things have changed in the pas t years, except Microsoft’s dedication towards the software systems. The latest OS to release from Microsoft has been that of the Windows 10 OS and the company has now released the Windows 10 Mobile OS for their mobile users too.
The Windows 10 Mobile OS update was initially only available for the users of the Lumia 950, 950 XL, Lumia 550 and Lumia 650 devices. Users of the Nokia Lumia devices were assured that this update would come to them in December 2015, but after three delays, the Windows 10 Mobile OS update finally came out in the middle of March, unannounced.
The Windows 10 Mobile OS update came out for the users of many older Nokia Lumia phones such as Lumia 1520, 930, 640, 640XL, 730, 735, 830, 532, 535, 540, 635 1GB, 636 1GB, 638 1GB, 430, 435, BLU Win HD w510u, BLU Win HD LTE x150q, and the MCJ Madosma Q501 devices.
Some of the popular phones such as the Lumia 520, Lumia 1020 and Lumia 1320 were visibly missing from the list, and the company has now released an official blog post stating why they decided to omit some popular devices.
“This list includes a limited set of Windows Phone 8.1 devices and does not include some devices that are currently running Windows 10 Mobile in the Windows 10 Mobile Insider program. As Windows 10 delivers significant new innovations, many older devices are not able to successfully upgrade without an impact on the customer experience. Our goal is to only offer the Windows 10 upgrade to devices that we are confident can continue to deliver a good customer experience,” the company said.
