First it was Unite 2, then it was Canvas Engage. Now Micromax moves to establish a stronger foothold in the Indian mobile market with the launch of its new Phablet, the Micromax Canvas A105, within 10 days.
The marketing strategy is also commendable – the phone was directly launched at E Commerce sites instead of hitting the shelves – this would cause enough buzz amongst users and might rocket sales once it is available off the shelf in stores. It is now priced at Rs.6,999.
This beauty is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device running on Android 4.4.2 Kitkat mobile OS, coupled with a 5 inch display, with a resolution of (480×800 pixels) IPS display.
1.2GHz quad-core Broadcom BCM23550 processor with 512 MB Ram, are added features. Most of the other specifications are similar to the Canvas Engage A091.
It comes with a 4GB of on-board storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card slot.
On the camera front, camera optics of the phone are quite impressive – the phone comes with a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with a single LED Flash, for low image lighting. On the frontal side, the makers have added a VGA quality front-facing shooter, 0.3 megapixels strong.
The phablet has 3G, WiFi, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth. It is powered by a 1900mAh battery, offering good standby time. The width of the phone is 10.5 mms and it weighs 180 grams. The 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio are common features included. The A 105 will compete with Karbonn Titanium S1 Plus and Videocon A29.
Although this phone may seem to be a pretty good deal, users should also consider checking out the Lava Iris X1 launched at Rs. 7,999 or Moto E at a similar price range.
