Facebook has been a company which believes in constantly updating and upgrading their product to gain more traction. The company believes that change is the only constant, and keeps on adding new features and improvements to their apps, as well as tweaking their design from time to time in order to break monotony. The company has once again done that as they introduced a brand new design change for the users of the Facebook Messenger.
In its latest update, the Facebook Messenger users now get to experience the application in a new and improved, material design. The material design was introduced by Google in 2014 as they geared up for the launch of Android Lollipop OS. The Material Design includes floating buttons and similar floating bars, as well as many colour changes. The most noticeable change to the colour has been made to the bar on the top which has been made blue in colour.
Facebook Messenger boss David Marcus announced the design makeover on social media.
“If you’re using Messenger on Android, you’ve been wanting a brand-new material design for a bit. Any major redesign of an essential app used by hundreds of millions of people around the world is painstakingly hard, and that’s why we took every precaution to ensure you’d truly enjoy this evolution,”
The Facebook Messenger has been getting many updates in the past and the company has ensured the users get a unique experience. Facebook has added many new options including the ability to book an Uber via the messenger, as well as multiple logins and much more.
Facebook is working towards developing bigger brands under them. With 1.6 Billion users on Facebook, the company has 800 million users on the Messenger, a billion on WhatsApp and another 400 million on Instagram. It keeps updating all their apps in order to keep the users engaged with the new looks and features.
