Like every year, this year too Apple is surrounded by hundreds of rumors about its device releases, specifications and the likes.
Rumors, are mostly to be disregarded, but when rumors come from reliable sources that have a high success rate, there is no choice but to give them a second thought.
One such rumor has come courtesy Taiwanese publication Digitimes, which has been known to give more or less correct information before hand.
The news piece from this site says that Apple might have dropped plans of releasing a new Apple iPad 3 this year, a rather depressing revelation for Apple tablet fans and probable buyers.
Whether or not to trust such a statement is something that is to be given much thought, because despite having a good number of correct rumors in the past, there have also been instances wherein this site has come up with wrong information as well.
Therefore, it is suggested that unless something concrete comes straight from behind Apple’s walls, we could still have hope that this rumor is strictly speaking, just a rumor.
The reason why it is a little tough to believe what Digitimes Taiwan is claiming, is that the statement is completely contrary to what recent reports have stated; they were of the view that the Apple iPad mini 4 would bring very few changes as compared to the majority of news sources stating that the Apple iPad mini 4 would feature major developments.
The website stated that the developments would be nothing compared to what the Apple’s iPad mini 3 had brought.
Truly speaking, the Touch ID fingerprint reader Apple’s iPad mini 3 brought nothing but the inclusion of a Touch ID fingerprint reader.
Does this mean that the Apple’s iPad Mini 4 would bring even lesser? Sounds like tablet fans are in for a big shock this year!
Asides, there is another reason why we need to understand that rumors should not really be depended upon until well proved.
This is because Digitimes Taiwan’s reports never touched the news of productivity-oriented Apple iPad Pro, which is actually a rumored 12.9 inch iPad rumored to be proposed to be built as a direct competitor to the Microsoft’s surface range.
The website said nothing about this huge tablet.
Furthermore, the report from this website also states that the tablet reign is almost over and that people are looking to own only compact devices like smartphones, wearables, and automotive devices.
The rise in the popularity of tablets has apparently caused the tablet market to crash, as per Digitimes Taiwan.
Well, these rumors will be tested in the month of October this year, which is when iPads are generally released by Apple every year.
Till then we can only take them with a pinch of salt.
