According to a report by well-connected Japanese publication Nikkei, the iPhone 6 might look a notch futuristic with a curved screen and a glowing apple logo.
Nikkei suggests that all the images of the dummy units that have been available over the internet showing various patterns of the iPhone 6 might not necessarily depict its final design and might just be hoaxes or rather one of the many draft blueprints for the actual phone, prepared by manufacturers that some lucky chaps have been able to lay their hands on.
They might depict markings to show where manufacturers will need to cut out spots for two glass pieces and as a result, the iphone6 may or may not end up looking akin to iPhone 5.
This confirms a report from Bloomberg we read earlier this year that claimed both new iPhone models would “feature larger displays with glass that curves downward at the edges.” Lewi Hussey a Dutch designer, gives a new concept in which iPhone 6 features an edge-to-edge curved display.
The screen size hasn’t been yet confirmed and remains in a confused state. It’s likely that iPhone 6 will come with 5-inch or 6-inch OLED Retina Display.
So far, there have been numerous mock ups about the looks and build of the iPhone6 but almost all of them have low build quality with a badly fitting home button.
However, Nikkei reporters claim that the curved display concept might take care of this, allowing one part of the phone to smoothly blend into the other, giving perfect looks and finish.
If the iPhone6 actually features a curved screen, like the LG G Flex, it could begin a new race of smartphones with flexible displays, having the advantage of less glare, better outdoor readability and unbeatable looks.
Nikkei’s report is not the first one to support this theory as it was first put forth by Japanese Apple blog Mac Otakara just a few days ago.
iPhone 6 could also feature a carved in Apple logo at the back, that will glow, just as on the Apple laptops, as per Nikkei.
Here again, Nikkei was not the first to predict this – an Australian iPhone repair site with a proven history of leaking upcoming iPhone and iPad parts early had posted something that is ostensibly the rear shell of the next iPhone, in which the Apple symbol on the back of the shell is completely clear and as per the website, could simply imply a glow-in-the-dark Apple logo on the back of the next iPhone, like on the MacBook.
