The Apple Watch has been one of the most talked about subjects in recent times.
Be it the jokes and memes on the pricing or the praise that it has received since its launch, the Apple watch has been one topic which just can’t be ignored by anyone from a common passenger on your train to your way to work or a popular media house writing about it.
The fact of the matter at the end of the day has been that the Apple Watch, without the shadow of a doubt, has managed to create a long lasting impression in the market and has got the markets abuzz and has them talking about it.
The company was experimenting with the Watch OS when they first launched it, and now, it seems like their experiment has indeed been a success as they are all set to release the WatchOS 2, which will be coming out as a free update to all the owners of the Apple Watch devices, next week.
On September the 16th, the Watch OS as well as the iOS 9 would start rolling out for compatible devices.
Apple at its keynote on Wednesday also revealed the new Apple Watch Hermes collection which includes new leather bands from Hermes, including the Single Tour, Double Tour and Cuff. It also showed off new Gold and Rose Gold variants of the Apple Watch Sport.
The company, on Wednesday, did not have anything drastically new to offer, but emphasized more on what they had said earlier, and repeated the statement that the Watch OS 2 would be making ‘apps faster and more fluid’ and would have them run natively on the app.
The update is being marketed as the ‘first major update for the Watch OS’ and is expected to bring along various improvements, especially in Photos, Photo Album, and Time-Lapse.
The Time Travel feature allows users to conveniently explore events in the future by scrolling the Digital Crown.
The company also announced that developers can now take advantage of key hardware and APIs to create native third-party apps for the Apple Watch.
Giving an example, the company notes, “playing back video in the CNN app, using the speaker and microphone in iTranslate or measuring heart rate while cycling with Strava.”
At the event, Apple also added two new Apple Watch Sport cases – in Gold aluminum and Rose Gold aluminum colours.
