The company has now been taking rapid strides towards the markets of hardware technology, and thanks to their acquisition of Nokia, they got a good headstart in terms of production facilities.

The Nokia deal was surrounded with major optimism, but it all did not end up so well for Microsoft.
The company has recently released the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book laptop. However, they are now planning at releasing a third device in the surface series – a smartphone!
The phone will not be branded as a Lumia device, but would instead be a Surface Phone, and as per various rumours, it is currently being worked under the codename of ‘Juggernaut Alpha’.
The company is expected to release the phone with top of the line specs, and as per rumours, the Microsoft Surface Phone might release with 4GB of RAM, and top of the line processor.
While it is a high possibility this might be the Snapdragon 820, reports have been talking about a desktop class Intel Atom as well.
There have been various other rumours in the markets which claim the phone might as well be releasing with the Skylake processor, but that remains quite unlikely.
The device is expected to release in the first quarter of 2016.
