Microsoft is among the biggest names when it comes to the world of technology. The company has been around for many years, and over the 40+ years of their existence, they have faced various challenges. One of the biggest challenges that Microsoft faced was in the hardware markets. The company was having a hard time but then the Surface devices changed it all. The Surface Pro and recently introduced Surface Book are Microsoft’s key hardware offerings. The company is now working on a Surface Book 2.
The Surface Book 2 will be quite different from what the original surface book was. The first Surface Book, which released in 2015, was a 2-in-1 device, basically it was a tablet that doubles up as a laptop. But wasn’t that more or less what the Surface Pro series was offering too? Microsoft realized that the Surface Book was going through an identity crisis. The company has decided they will drop the 2-in-1 concept in the Surface Book 2 and release it like a regular laptop.
The device is not going to feature a tablet with a keyboard, but a normal laptop. The Surface Book 2 will also not feature the 360-degree hinge this time. One benefit that the users would get out of this would be that they would actually get this device at a lesser price than last year. Current speculations indicate the Surface Book 2 will be introduced at $1000.
The Surface Book 2 is expected to come out into the markets with a 13.5 inched display. The device will feature a magnesium alloy body. As of now these are the only known details about the device. It is also speculated that the gen-next Surface Book is now under production! It is likely that the announcement would be made in the coming months.
