HP is all set to reenter the gaming industry with a big cube which glows. Like every other gaming product this also looks like something right out of a sci-fi movie. The device is called Omen X Desktop. According to the company, it is strong enough to handle VR and 4K gaming. The design of Omen X Desktop has some interesting features such as compartmentalization. The cube design is used to separate components into different chambers which offer easy swapping of hard drive compartments and to assist cooling.
The baseline model of Omen X Desktop will run on a powerful i7 Skylake processor along with 8 GB for RAM accompanied by a 2TB Hard Drive with 256GB SSD. It also includes liquid cooling. It includes the graphic card Radeon RX 480 from AMD which has 4GB of RAM all for itself. It also has a crazy 10 USB ports 8 of them are 3.0 and the other 2 are USB-C. The buyers if they want will be able to spec it much higher, with the machine’s graphic options reaching the maximum capacity at either AMD Radeon R9 Fury X cards or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 cards. The starting price is set at $ 1,799 on HP’s website which began today.
HP did start its comeback in the gaming industry earlier this year when it launched Omen Desktop and Omen Laptop. In the beginning of the year, HP did say that they were planning for much higher end line of products called Omen X and it has been launched today. With the Omen X Desktop, HP is also working on gaming accessories with partnership of SteelSeries which include a mouse pad, mouse, headset and keyboard. The company has also announced plans for releasing a gaming monitor which will include a curved display.
