Ever since Google announced the date for its annual event, Android 4.5/Android 5.0 release date had been pegged for Google I/O. While Google itself has not confirmed anything as yet, there are rumours that we’re going to see a new Android release this fall.
Apple recently held its WWDC event in San Francisco and unveiled the much awaited iOS 8 which has narrowed down the gap between Android and iOS to a great extent.
Google must release the much rumoured Android 4.5 or Android 5.0 during this upcoming Google I/O to maintain its supremacy. It is scheduled to take place in San Francisco later this month.
There is no confirmation whether the next Android iteration is going to be called Android 4.5 or Android 5.0. However ‘Lollipop’ seems to be the top contender for Android 4.5/5.0′s name.
Moreover, it is expected to be similar to iOS 8 and Google will probably try to implement changes that make it more user friendly and more ‘usable’ than at present.
Android 4.5 or Android 5.0 is also expected to be even more fluid stable and more secure than ever. There are also expectations that ART runtime will become the default setting which will allow the OS to be much faster in comparison to Android KitKat.
According to past records, one can say that Google has a habit of introducing new Android versions simultaneously with new Nexus devices. This time it is not going to be any different according to rumours.
Moreover, many tech experts believe that this time, Google might end up releasing at least two new tablets; the Nexus 8 and a refreshed Nexus 10 2 2014, apart from Android 4.5 or Android 5.0,.
