The iPhone 6 is due for September 9th, 2014. Expectations are high, and patience is running low for all.
Amidst all this, a leakster comes up with leaks proclaiming to be photos of computer displays taken from Foxconn directly, with authentic detailed data about the upcoming device.
The 4.7 inch and the 5.5 inch versions have both been covered here and when assessed closely, you can find that the phone would be by far, the thinnest iPhone ever released.
With the launch date only a couple of weeks away, the chances are less that any of this data would be subject to change – there just isn’t enough time.
The pictures as iterated above show in depth specifications of the device’s size and other specs. To start with, picture one depicts the N51, with a size of 4.87 x 2.31 x 0.3 inches (123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6 mm) at a weight of 3.95oz (112 grams). This seems quite close to the dimensions that the iPhone 5s offered.
Subsequent to this, the N61 is shown, that in all probabilities must be the 4.7 inch model of the iPhone6. With the dimensions pegged at 5.44 x 2.64 x 0.27 inches (138.14 x 66.97 x 6.9 mm), we could not go wrong on this one. The phone seems to have evolved – the size is taller, wider and thinner. The weight however, is still a matter of contemplation as nothing is really clear.
The N56, that appears next could be the 5.5 inch phone. Here we have two different versions cropping up. The first version is at a size of 6.2 x 2.64 x 0.27 inches (158.0 x 77.12 x 7 mm) at a weight of 5.94 Oz (168.5 grams), while the second is pegged at 6.22 x 3.06 x 0.27 inches (158.07 x 77.79 x 7.1 mm) at a weight of 6.5 Oz (184.6 grams).
Both these reports support the claim that the iPhone 6 would be about 7mm thin. Although it is not as this as the Gionee Elife, it seems good for a thinner start.
Picture two contains some confidential information. The iPhone 6 would look pretty much like the dummies we have seen leaked before. Although doubt remains on Apple’s decision of concealing the plastic bands, the design would not be different and this fact is established.
The second revelation in the picture shows that the iPhone 6 would feature a protruding camera lens, further adding to its width. The total width would hence stand at 7.67mm, the 0.67 mm being contributed by the camera lens.
For the second version of the 5.5 inch model, 0.77 mm would be added by the camera lens, breaking the tradition of a flat rear as in previous models. The lens however, would be sapphire coated, hence you can lose the worry about it getting scratched. Seems like the Sapphire decision finally paid off for Apple!
